THE LEARNING HUB: What Six Habits Can Transform My Habits Completely

The 6 habits of a fearless and virtuous man/woman can transform your confidence completely and make you happy, confident, and assured: 1. Avoidance of regret Often times, when we choose the wrong course of action, we have a feeling of regret, or a feeling of “what if I had chosen differently?” It’s human nature to desire happiness, but when we make wrong decisions, we often suffer. For example, a person can choose the wrong job because of a lack of job opportunities in a different career field. Or a person can choose the wrong girl or boy because they have so much chemistry with that person (and they feel like they’ll be “forever” together). The key is to learn to avoid regret and avoid regret behavior. Learn to avoid regret by learning to adapt and respond with grace and dignity in situations where you can’t choose the right path. To learn how to avoid regret, you first need to know how to cultivate the mental discipline of patience. Then, you must learn to perceive the present moment...

THE LEARNING HUB: It's a funny thing about the modern world..

It's a funny thing about the modern world. You hear girls in the toilets of clubs saying, " ... He didn't love me. He just couldn't deal with love. He was too f*cked up to know how to love me." Now, how did that happen? What was it about this unlovable century that convinced us we were, despite everything, eminently lovable as a people, as a species? What made us think that anyone who fails to love us is damaged, lacking, malfunctioning in some way? And particularly if they replace us with a god, or a weeping madonna, or the face of Christ in a ciabatta roll then we call them crazy. Deluded. Regressive. We are so convinced of the goodness of ourselves, and the goodness of our love, we cannot bear to believe that there might be something more worthy of love than us, more worthy of worship. Greetings cards routinely tell us everybody deserves love. No. Everybody deserves clean water. Not everybody deserves love all the time. ~Zadie Smith (Art: Painting by Alia E. El...

THE LEARNING HUB: There is an old Eastern fable about

There is an old Eastern fable about a traveler who is taken unawares on the steppes by a ferocious wild animal. In order to escape the beast the traveler hides in an empty well, but at the bottom of the well he sees a dragon with its jaws open, ready to devour him. The poor fellow does not dare to climb out because he is afraid of being eaten by the rapacious beast, neither does he dare drop to the bottom of the well for fear of being eaten by the dragon. So he seizes hold of a branch of a bush that is growing in the crevices of the well and clings on to it. His arms grow weak and he knows that he will soon have to resign himself to the death that awaits him on either side. Yet he still clings on, and while he is holding on to the branch he looks around and sees that two mice, one black and one white, are steadily working their way round the bush he is hanging from, gnawing away at it. Sooner or later they will eat through it and the branch will snap, and he will fall into the jaws of ...

THE LEARNING HUB: Hope locates itself in the premises

Hope locates itself in the premises that we don’t know what will happen and that in the spaciousness of uncertainty is room to act. When you recognize uncertainty, you recognize that you may be able to influence the outcomes — you alone or you in concert with a few dozen or several million others. Hope is an embrace of the unknown and the unknowable, an alternative to the certainty of both optimists and pessimists. Optimists think it will all be fine without our involvement; pessimists take the opposite position; both excuse themselves from acting. It’s the belief that what we do matters even though how and when it may matter, who and what it may impact, are not things we can know beforehand. We may not, in fact, know them afterward either, but they matter all the same, and history is full of people whose influence was most powerful after they were gone. ~Rebecca Solnit (Art: Photograph by Bill Brandt)

THE LEARNING HUB: What are some confidence hacks

1.Deepen your voice as much as possible while speaking. 2.Be loud and clear. Never mumble stuff. Even if you're telling the right thing, talking with a low volume makes you look like an unsure person. 3.While walking, always stay upright with your chest facing forward. 4.Always maintain eye contact while speaking or delivering a speech. Looking elsewhere shows doubt and nervousness. 5.Never fidget with things like keys etc. or play with your fingers. All of this is a sign of nervousness. 6.Always make sure that you have a natural smile on your face when you're discussing something casual. It'll make you look more comfortable. 7.Use as much space as possible. The more the space you use, the more confidence you demonstrate. 8.Make sure you make relevant hand and body gestures while delivering speeches. Never stay stiff. 9.Always be well groomed 10.Above all, let go of your fears. They are your main demons. Never care about what others would think and voice your opinion. Cheer...

THE LEARNING HUB: ADVICE TO ALL EMPLOYEES

1. Build a home earlier. Be it rural home or urban home. Building a house at 50 is not an achievement. Don't get used to government houses. This comfort is so dangerous. Let all your family have good time in your house. 2. Go home. Don't stick at work all the year. You are not the pillar of your department. If you drop dead today, you will be replaced immediately and operations will continue. Make your family a priority. 3. Don't chase promotions. Master your skills and be excellent at what you do. If they want to promote you, that's fine if they don't, stay positive to your personal development. 4. Avoid office or work gossip. Avoid things that tarnish your name or reputation. Don't join the bandwagon that backbites your bosses and colleagues. Stay away from negative gatherings that have only people as their agenda. 5. Don't ever compete with your bosses.
